Just got back to Florida from a great trip to France. I’m really happy I was able to go over there with the Zap crew and represent. The whole event was organized really well and provided a lot of extra perks for riders such as breakfast, lunch, a few free dinners, beer, water, and juice. We were definitely a crazy tribe of skimmers all week. We stayed in a bungalow (upscale tent) all week in a camp that housed most of the riders that came for the event. Having all the skimmers staying in close proximity made for some great bonding amongst different countries skimmers and skim teams.
The waves were huge most of the trip. I’m talking 5-12 ft about 7 of the 10 days we were there! The most rippable skim was in San Sebastian Spain as you saw from the previous post. The contest waves were difficult to ride with reforms, small liners, troughy wraps, and almost every condition in between with the variable weather we experienced.
